Literary Theory, Stylistics and Cognitive Poetics

The desire to understand and interpret the underlying mechanisms involved in creation reception of literary texts, influence these on human cognition goes back at least Aristotle’s Poetics. However, last century has witnessed a vast variety approaches understanding literature: plethora theories such as feminist, post colonialist, queer reader response well some practical ways analysis interpretation formalism, new criticism, stylistics, cognitive poetics have shown themselves opposite end continuum. Stylistics its evolved form, been significantly influential processes literature. Although stylistics usually covered under broad heading theory, it observed that divergence they operate makes claims invalid because, unlike empirical evidence is heart poetics.
